What we can and can’t see

The server can’t read them.

End-to-end encrypted with the Signal Protocol (including Kyber post-quantum key agreement). Messages are encrypted on your device and decrypted on the recipient’s; once delivered, they’re deleted from the server and no history is kept.

Groups / Channels / BotsTLS in transit

Not end-to-end: the server can read them in transit.

These messages are encrypted in transit with TLS. The server can read their content while relaying them, but likewise keeps no history (deleted once relayed). Please judge their confidentiality accordingly.

Media files, offline messages awaiting delivery, and the metadata the server keeps (accounts, contacts, group and channel member lists, device records, reports) are itemized in our Privacy Policy (Simplified Chinese).

Chats, contacts, QR scanning, group nicknames, message recall and quoted replies — everything works the way you’d expect, clean and flat.

Groups & channels

Public groups, private groups (join by QR code or invite link) and read-only broadcast channels, with full admin and mute tools.

Private accounts: no email needed

Sign up with a recovery phrase generated only on your device — no phone number, no email. You keep the phrase yourself.

Multi-device by QR code

Scan once to link a new device to your account, with a short safety code to compare; identity keys never pass through the server.

Safety numbers & screenshot protection

Compare safety numbers in person to verify who you’re talking to; if their identity changes, sending is held until you confirm. Chats can also turn on screenshot protection (to be honest: it can’t stop another device from taking a photo).

Bots & mini programs

Run mini programs and bots inside the app. They are not end-to-end encrypted, and opening them to third parties is still in preparation.
